Foresthills hike

Today we hiked in the Foresthills area near Auburn. It is the Western Trail and favored by runners rather then hikers. But since we are in our training mode, we took the challenge of first going downhill then climbing again and then returning…..and man…! was it different. I was totally wiped out in the initial decent of 1700ft in 2.5 miles. Did quite a number on the knees. But then the rest stop by the middle ofork of the north fork of the American river…! I was energized enough to start the ascent on the other side, but we did not make it far before realising that it was too hot and we were getting exhausted. So we turned back and ended up climbing the last portion back in record time of under 2 hrs…!
In case you are wondering about the training it is for the gruelling hike in the Sounth American Andes on the Inca trail to get to Machu Picchu. Its a countdown now…less than 2 weeks before we fly to the southern hemisphere.

Another day

Since last night I have spent a lot of time updating the layout and looks of this site. Needless to say through multiple versions and hit and trials…:) Now I have something which I am satisfied with atleast for now. So till next time I rest my css and php hacking skills…but true to my gemini nature I will back sooner than later to change the look again. But then change is the only constant hing in life and what better than the convinience of the soft medium.
One interesting find has been the typing of the devnagri script (hindi and sanskrit) with my US english keyboard. But the web is an all savior and I was able to find a cheat sheet that helped me out. So the hindi text in the masthead is the result of that. My ever favorite vitruvian man has also found a spot.

Hope I can keep up the interest in posting here, I guess I have been so consumed in the look of this site that the content has been sidelined. But now that it is fairly setup the way I want, I will get some read worthy stuff in.
